What a heartbeat!
Today's visit to Dr F was exhilarating! What a wonderful joy to hear baby's first heartbeat. Baby is now 2.6cm and the heart is beating at 170bpm. That is FAST, more than twice my heartbeat! Dr F explained that when the baby is ready to come out, the heartbeat will gradually slows down to a normal pace. And the most incredible fact is that baby grows at a pace of 700% over 3 weeks! Isn't that amazing!?
Obviously it's too early to tell where is the head, or the hand or the toes. I can't wait for next visit in another 3 weeks.
We had quite a good discussion with Dr F today. He spoken about those prenatal extensive screening - we can choose to do it in Singapore or KL, but that will probably happen sometime in early June. It's too soon to do the scan now. The screening is to determine all sorts of risk of I-have-no-idea-screen. The term is too foreign to me at the moment.
Oh oh... and my due date is 29 November 2011 and the baby is expected to grow to full term by early November. I've made up my mind, it will have to be c-section but the date is still TBC. And Dr F will do delivery in Kempas Specialist Hospital here. He told us that we can pay a visit to the hospital and they will bring us around for a tour of the facility.
Another interesting fact that Dr F told us is that pregnant ladies are not required to drink specially formulated milk powder to assist pregnancy. The supplements that doctors give are normally sufficient enough. Those milk powder sold are basically the greatest marketing effort by the parent company! And in fact, drinking these so-called supplements will only assist in: WEIGHT GAIN. OMG, can you imagine the horror of the two most dreadful work a female can ever hear! Can you imagine, as it is a pregnant woman will gain weight naturally through out the pregnancy term and all these milk powders are NOT helping by making you FAT! So Dr F suggested that instead of the 4-spoonful of powder, I can have 2-spoons to cut down the calories intake. This is totally gonna be my midnight snack from now on and at half the recommended dosage! These supplements are especially good only if one is suffering from morning sickness where you will vomit out whatever consumed. This is definitely something interesting.

Happy Monday!
Anmum Materna
The drink is like a protein drink that keeps you SO FULL throughout the night and after breakfast. There is no way I can eat anything else after I drink the milk. Oh btw, it's in Chocolate flavour :) I had one this morning, and it lasted me until lunch. By lunch time came, I'm still so full. In fact, I couldn't finish my lunch! I've never "couldn't finish my lunch". I'm normally famish by lunch but today is exceptional. I had to share my lunch with hubby. I wonder if this is good... hmmm... It's almost like a meal replacement.
After the breakfast milk, I didn't have ANYTHING at all. Last night too, I didn't have any munchy. I normally munch a bit around mid-night (bad habit!). Let's give it a few more times and see if this is how it should be.

Maternity Clothings
First and foremost, I need leggings - I think. And I read about the maternity waistband, which I think it's kinda cool. It's basically worn around your tummy/waist on top of your unzippable pants or jeans! How cool is that! It kinda hold your pants in place. I have lots of slacks that were fitting before, but now, I don't wear them because I didn't want to "tighten" my naturally expanding tummy. Well, ok ok... honestly, I just want to buy something maternity! HAHAHA!
I tried to look online for any good online maternity store in Malaysia, it's kinda hard to find a good one. So far, this one looks quite promising: http://www.babybumpmaternity.com.my. But they use all the skinny girls! >.< It makes me wonder if this will at all fit a real pregnant woman at all!
I shall look more for interesting sites :) I'm not that into forum yet at the moment, I just want to browse these shopping sites to find interesting stuff!

Indigestion
I had 2 chewable tablets of Gaviscon, made myself a warm Milo in the middle of the night, and it was still pointless. So I just let the pain be and tried to catch some sleep.... Lesson learnt: NEVER EAT TOO FULL when you are pregnant.

My first ultrasound scan
We arrived the clinic earlier than usual and Dr F hasn't arrived yet. We waited for about 15 minutes and when I hear Dr F rang the bell, I was so happy.
The scan shows one sac, which I am happy. After such long wait, finally. Dr F showed us the heart beating- it's the cutest moment. I'm surprised I didn't cry! Haha! It was really cool seeing the heart beating for the first time.
The sac is at about 0.4cm at the moment. So happy to at least see one.

Tomorrow is not here soon enough
It's strange that since Sunday, I felt nausea only in the evening between 5pm - 8pm. Is it the low blood sugar? Or is it just too exhausting for me for the end of the day? I have no idea! Gotta ask Dr. F tomorrow.

Still no new symptoms?
We are due for our next review on Wednesday. I hope there will be a scan :) I'm so excited about seeing Dr F. This Wednesday appointment will hopefully ease my mind because I still have no sure sign of pregnancy symptoms.
- Constipation - Well, any normal human being will have constipation once in a while right?
- Nausea - Well, I had it ONCE and it was last night. It was no big deal, there was no vomiting involved, the feeling was like butterflies in my stomach and I thought it would "fly" out of my mouth. But nothing happens.
- Sore breasts - I had it for a while but I felt that it's less sore/painful compare to a week ago.
- Tired/Sleepy - Well, I have always been a sleepy head. I think I can sleep the whole day if I want. HAHA... so I don't know if this count.

Hubby is away...
Every morning, he would make me breakfast and lunch before he goes to work. He even brought me my Cyclogest in the cooler bag so I don't need to walk down the stairs and get it at 11am.
Since we have been having early dinner, I would be hungry by midnight. Hubby would either make me a soup or Milo kept in a flask. Sometimes I get extra treats.
He left Thursday morning to KL after making me breakfast and lunch. And he will only be back on Saturday. So tonight made my own soup- only to be too diluted. Tomorrow, I'm gonna attempt to make my own half-boiled eggs for breakfast. Hubby is very good at it!! Lunch is always simple and easy. I will have ham+cheese sandwich. I had it today and it's pretty pleasing to my taste butt. Or was it because Hubby made it before going away...
